About

MD’s mission is to bring individual and functional interiors to everyone, whatever the budget.  As coveted as an original antique may be, it’s amazing what a collection of plants, an oversized print, clever use of paint, and a trawl through a furniture fair can do to create a unique interior.

About

Morland Design came into being as a result of its artist founder, Natasha Gozzi (nee Morland), being regularly asked to help turn around the houses of friends who were inspired after seeing how Natasha had arranged her own living spaces. A degree in fine art together with a course at the Inchbald and years as a furniture buyer at Andrew Martin International is the foundation for Natasha’s inventive style; her background allows her to use her sensitivity as an artist whilst adhering to established principles of design.

Whether it is decorating a shelf or an entire house, MD will approach the task as if it were a painting, instinctively balancing the composition through colour and texture to reflect, above all, the character of its owner.  Most of us are far closer to our innate creativity than we realize.  It’s the job of an intuitive designer to bring that aspect to the fore in a relaxed way without intimidating the client.  A space is the backdrop to a person’s identity, the more one looks at it, the more layers it offers up to the viewer about it’s inhabitant.

The small, specialized team that MD work with covers all aspects of interior design, and includes bespoke furniture, reflecting the meticulous eye for detail that its founder has. The studio maintains a special focus on sourcing, curating, and framing art and artefacts to create trend-defying spaces, never running the risk of appearing outdated. Based in Portobello Road,  to date MD have worked chiefly on residential interiors both in London and around the UK and also take on art and design commissions.  Please see the link to the art website below for further information.

Testimonials

"Natasha delivered an expert translation of our initial brief for our West Wittering beach house. We wanted the house to feel stylish but comfortable and Natasha adhered to our remit adding her own unique stamp. She has great taste, combining elegant design with functionality, including both antique and contemporary elements. As icing on the cake and beyond our expectations, Natasha was able to source some fantastic art to compliment the design and atmosphere of the house.”

NE, West Wittering

“Natasha was absolutely brilliant to work with, always full of energy and ideas. She was also great at introducing me to colours and furniture that I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen myself, and for that I am extremely grateful!”

FJ, Queens Park

“It was a pleasure to work with Natasha - she is very professional and gave us brilliant ideas for our
home. She transformed an ordinary room into a wonderful sitting room where we now spend all our time.
I can't recommend her highly enough!”
